Entry Criteria: There are courses for all levels of ability, from Elementary to Advanced level.
Aviation English Courses aim to provide students with the necessary English language skills in order to operate safely and effectively in an aviation environment, and to reach level 4 or above in an ICAO language proficiency assessment. Operational air traffic controllers and pilots are required to reach and maintain an ICAO level 4 and above.
The ICAO rating scale contains the following six level descriptors: Level 6: Expert, Level 5: Extended, Level 4: Operational, Levels 1 – 3: Non-operational. Each level consists of the following language proficiency components: pronunciation, structure, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension and interactions. Training focuses on the specific skills described in the ICAO level 4 language profile.
Entry Criteria: Entrants require an English language level of Pre-Intermediate (ICAO level 2) and above.
