AVIATION MEDICAL EXAMINER COURSE (AME)
Fly Level is authorized by the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority as an EASA Approved Training Organisation, to hold Basic and Advanced Training Courses in Aviation Medicine, in accordance with Regulation EU 1178/2011 article MED.D.020 and AMC1 MED.D.010, AMC 1 MED.D.015.
The Aviation Medical Examiner Course (AME) aims at providing qualified physicians with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct medical examinations for private and professional pilots, cabin crew and air traffic controllers (Class 1, 2 and 3 licences) in accordance with ICAO's Standards and Recommended Practices. The major outcome of the course is that participants will better appreciate the aviation environment and its impact on various clinical conditions. Fly Level’s course embraces a competency-based, post-graduate medical training approach to fully comply with the objectives stated in the latest guidelines for training of Medical Examiners. A comprehensive span of topics will be covered to enable an Aviation Medical Examiner to undertake the responsibilities on behalf of their respective State's Authorities.

Physicians who aspire to be appointed as Aviation Medical Examiners responsible for conducting medical examinations for pilots, cabin crew and air traffic controllers. It will also benefit medical officers of civil aviation authorities and airlines. General practitioners, doctors in hospital practice and related health professionals with an interest in aviation will also find this course useful as an introduction to applied Aviation Medicine.
The course will be delivered within classroom lectures and contextualised discussions in syndicate settings, also featuring practical learning sessions with aviation physiology simulators, flight simulators and workplace assessment exercises in order for participants to acquire practical knowledge and experience of the conditions under which pilots, cabin crew and air traffic controllers perform their duties.
